Born in Serdiana (Ca) in 1938, Gigi Dessì works in Cagliari at regional body. Married with three children, Secretary and founder of the "New Writers Sardinian" Literary Conventions since 1980 organizes national and international, taking care of the publication in the Proceedings. He has won numerous awards in Italy for unpublished and published. His poems have been translated into French, English, English, Maltese and Greek. He has published eight poetry anthologies:
shattered glass (1974), the incomprehensible man (1976), and man Dinis (1978), Pressures (in English, published in New York, 1980), dialog transitions (1984 ) Tanche Memory (1987), Suggestions for Life (1988) and echoes of that game (1991) Nemapress Publishing Alghero, with whom he won the Rome Prize "The rooms of Calliope" organized by MO.POE.ITA- Fenalc.

E’ vero ho appreso che
il tempo è un arazzo
con pendici di pasque:
prima che il fuoco trovi
all’angelo della sabbia emozioni
sarà quasi un diario
questa parete inchiodata
ai versi come preludio
di silenzi
o gridi imbandierati.
Ho atteso senza fregi
la memoria. Crepe
odorose scoprivano tregue:
il filo carico
i roditori tanti.
Il papiro dell’amore
la tua intimità
hanno scritto salmi
illuminandomi: fauci prudenti
sulle ciglia che
noi stessi ascoltammo.
E’ senza radici la tristezza
che riduce clamori.
In noi non è seminascosta
l’armonia che ci lega
ai mutamenti e andiamo
carponi laddove la nostra
insufficienza scoppia
e scava il vuoto
come foglia senz’anima.
Sterile è l’errore
che conduce al distacco
nervoso l’amore
thin chasing perfection.
